Federal Law The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004, the U.S. Congress established a new requirement that all school districts with a federally-funded school meals program develop and implement wellness policies that address nutrition and physical activity by the start of the 2006-2007 school year
 
State Laws:
Senate Bill 154 Senate Bill 154 requires the Kansas State Board of Education to establish wellness policy guidelines.
Senate Bill 1604 Senate Continuing Resolution 1604 requires the Kansas State Department of Education to report to the Kansas Legislature in January 2006.
